The House

Cal Just is a stone house built around 1450 by the Arabs during their ocupation of Spain. It is located in the center of the town of Colldejou, in the province of Tarragona. The house has been remodeled in a rural style and you will find antique items related to the local area lifestyle throughout the home. It has three levels. The first floor consists of a dining room area, a fire place area with a sofa bed, a round tower used to play cards or family games, the kitchen and a bathroom. The second floor has three bedrooms, one with a double bed, another one with two single beds, and the round tower with another bed inside, a bathroom and a storage area. The basement area consists of a fireplace area and a cave to store wines.

The Town

Colldejou has 197 inhabitants and its extension is 14,20km2. The town festivities are from the 9th to the 15th of August to celebrate Sant Llorens and the last weekend of October to celebrate Sant Rafael. The town is inside the comarca of Baix Camp and at the border with El Priorat, famous for its wines. Here are some links to the local web sites:

Activities

Surrounded by two high mountains, "La Mola de Colldejou" 914 meters high and "La Serra de Llaveria" the town offers a diversity of hikes and walks. Mountain biking is also a very popular option. If one prefers a more laid-back option you can visit the town swimming pool or go down to the beach, just a fifteen minute drive.

If you are interested in wine, you are at the entrance of the comarca of the Priorat where you can visit a wide variety of wineries and taste its wines. This area´s popularity is growing because of the quality of its wines around the world.
